“Excellent property, warm and welcoming. The ‘wee home’ is stylishly decorated and very well laid out with 3 good sized bedrooms. It was exceptionally clean and has everything that you can possibly need. Very cosy and warm especially when the log burner is on. Fully enclosed garden with fire pit, the children loved the opportunity to play on the slide and swing. Beautiful quite location. As travelling from England the milk and muffins on arrival was such a lovely welcome gesture and much appreciated. I would have no hesitation recommending The Green Holiday Cottages to anyone.”

“We had a lovely time at the cottage.. The cottage was very clean, modern and homely. The senery was beautiful in such a peaceful area …The nature was splendid and we had our very own prayer seat by the lake. The kids and us adults had so much fun especially on the swing by the lake, we had barbecues and could relax in a lovely living area with a nice fire watching films , the cottage had everything we (Website hidden by Airbnb) is close to the town and the beach…We arrived to a lovely welcome from mark and a lovely cake made by his wife .We felt really at home and would highly recommend…thank you”

“Such a welcoming guest to a beautiful home. We spent a weekend at Wee home but happily would have stayed for longer. It was our first try of Airbnb with all the nervousness that entails but Wee home surpassed all our expectations. It was spotlessly clean and so tranquil we spent the evenings on the patio overlooking the river then came indoor to the cosy fire Mark had already set up. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again or recommend.”

“Truly fantastic stay at a beautiful cottage. It’s secluded and private but the shops are just a quick drive away to pick up food and supplies (not that you need much as Mark has catered for your every need and kitted the cottage out well). We were made to feel very welcome and had a lovely weekend enjoying our breakfasts outside with the stream trickling nearby, a short drive to climb Slieve Donnard, and curling up on the comfy sofas with lots of blankets next to the cozy fire. Perfect weekend. Mark is professional as well as a kind and caring host. I couldn’t rate this place higher.”

“This newly renovated property is absolutely brilliant. The house is very bright and the decor is beautiful. The large living space combining kitchen, dining and living area was perfect for our family. The kitchen is modern and well equipped so was perfect for cooking family meals and entertaining guests. The rural location means that the house is lovely and peaceful but you only need to drive for 5 mins to reach Kilkeel town centre which has a wide variety of shops etc. Mark and his wife provided many thoughtful touches such as home made muffins, and an Easter tree which were lovely. Providing toys, paper and crayons was also a real winner with the kids and they enjoyed exploring the garden and river which runs alongside. We’ll definitely be back to stay in this property next time we’re in the area!”

“We rented the Wee Home to spend New Year 2016 / 2017 together with friends and our children. Leading up to the stay Mark went above and beyond to ensure we would have the perfect stay. He even ordered online shopping to make sure that ours would arrive ok.
When we arrived we were met by Mark and his partner and we were shown around, it’s a beautiful house, an old mill house, and the renovations have been finished to a very high standard. We were lucky enough to be the first guests and we had such a lovely stay.
The house is situated in a stunning part of Northern Ireland, surrounded by mountains and situated by the sea. The house itself is surrounded by fields, yet only 5 mins drive into Kilkeel, where there is a large ASDA, Pharmacy and a range of other shops. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay at the Wee Home, a fantastic house and a lovely host. Thank you both!”

“A great place to enjoy a midwinter weekend: A cozy, elegant and child friendly cottage just a stone’s throw away from world class walking. Also one of the warmest houses on the island of Ireland I’ve been to!”

“A big part of family holidays is about making memories, when I was a kid I was lucky enough that my Dad brought us to Co. Down on a number of occasions and now I’m doing the same with my own kids. As a base for exploring the area you won’t find better than The Green Cottages, other reviewers will describe them as tranquil, peaceful, idyllic and situated as they are beside a babbling brook & nestled between mature deciduous trees and a potato field they most surely are, however these are descriptions for grown ups – my kids loved the freedom of the place, with the swings n the slide, the stepping stones across the water and the secluded river walkways that the owners have installed – they could easily spend the day just playing around the cottages, no whiz bang tech required here – the owner does have broadband installed but sssh don’t tell the kids, they don’t need it ;-)”
